Overview

The 17th Edition Wiring Regulations course including Amendment 3 covers the wiring regulations for electrical installers. Amendment 3 was released in January 2015 and becomes effective in July 2015 and as a result EAL has updated their course to cover the updates.

The course is the recognised qualification in the implementation of these standards and helps prove that those holding the qualification are compliant with the standards.

 

Objectives

This 17th Edition course aims to assist practicing electricians and those looking to work and develop their skills within the electro-technical industry. You will study the latest standard of the IEE wiring regulations, including essential subjects such as safety, selection and erection of electrical equipment.

 

Course Content

The classroom-based course will teach candidates how to reference the 17th Edition Regulations for situations that will be encountered whilst completing electrical installations. The course follows 8 key modules, as follows:

  • Scope, Object and Fundamentals
  • Assessment of General Characteristics
  • Selection and Erection of Equipment
  • Special Installations or Locations
  • Definitions
  • Protection for Safety
  • Inspection and Testing
  • Appendixes

 

Pre Requisites

Although there are no pre requisites with this course, it would be beneficial to the attendee to have some electrical installation knowledge and practical experience.

 

EXAM and ASSESSMENT

The exam for the course is an online, open-book exam; which is to be completed once the course modules and content have been successfully finished and understood.
