Overview

This course, certified by City & Guilds, is aimed at electricians working in the building trade who require a working knowledge of the ways electrical installations in dwellings can affect the building’s construction.

 

Objectives

This course aims to assist the candidate in achieving compliance with the relevant Building Regulations (which are a legal requirement). If you are working on any electrical installation that can affect the construction of a building, this course will give you the expertise to ensure you’re work is both safe and legal.

 

Course Content

It will cover all the relevant parts of the building regulations; A, B, E, F, L, M and P, which the domestic electrician will need to comply with, including:

  • The purpose of the regulations
  • The enforcement of the regulations
  • The requirements of the electrical contractor

 

Pre Requisites

All entrants need to have an understanding of the requirements for domestic dwellings and an amount of electrical knowledge.

 

Exam and assessment

All candidates are required to complete an online exam, which last approximately 40 minutes, and on completion will receive either a Level 3 City and Guilds or EAL certificate that will demonstrate their understanding of the UK Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings.
