5 Day Class Room Based or Distance Learning Course

 

Overview

The 7232-(5) course is aimed at the partially qualified electricians who have not completed a full apprenticeship or qualified electricians who need to provide evidence of competency to a third party certification body e.g. NAPIT, STROMA etc. This course is third party certified by City and Guilds.

The NA 7232-(5) is delivered in two different study options; either as a 5 day classroom based tuition based course delivered by Fulcran trainers, prior to completing an online exam and three practical assessments OR as distance learning where no tuition is provided by Fulcran and the candidate attends the Training Center for one extended day to complete the online exam and three practical assessments.

 

Classroom Based Course

The course content below is delivered over the first three and a half days equipping the candidate with the knowledge and information they need to give them the best chance of passing the online exam and three practical assessments. The course is delivered by one of Fulcran’s electrical trainers who have all come from a practical electrical background and have the ability to work with the candidate on any short falls that may appear during the tuition

The class room based course is over 5 consecutive days and starts on a Monday (please ensure you choose the correct date when booking via the website or eventbrite)

 

Distance Learning Course

For those candidates who feel they do not require any tuition, can complete the syllabus via distance learning were Fulcran will send the candidate the course material and the candidate will only be required to attend Training Centre for one extended day to complete the on-line exam and three practical assessments.

NOTE: No tuition by Fulcran is included in this distance learning option.

The assessment dates for the Distance Learning option are held on a Monday and Tuesday (please ensure you choose the correct date when booking via the website or eventbrite) and will start at 8am.

 

Objectives

To achieve the level of competency required for installation practices, inspection and testing; verification and certification of electrical installations to BS 7671:2008 (2015)

 

Course Content

At the end of the course delegates will have demonstrated theoretical knowledge and practical competency in the following modules:

  • Understand your own/your employers’ responsibilities under the 1989 Electricity at Work Act
  • Have knowledge of the Building Regulations
  • Understand the requirement for Health and Safety
  • Carryout formal visual checks
  • Carry out formal inspection and testing
  • Carryout electrical checks
  • Create records of electrical checks and tests completed
  • Use records resulting from the above

 

Pre Requisites

All entrants for this course must be able to provide minimum of 2 years practical experience in the field and previous electrical knowledge.

 

Exam and assessment

All candidates are required to complete an online exam, which is split into three units and complete three practical electrical assessments. The applicant MUST pass the online exam before they are able to progress to the practical assessments.
